Meet Raphael, a boy with a secret, well, a secret identity to be exact: he is Phantom R, the sharp-suited thief famed for superbly strange behaviour – he steals priceless treasures of the art world, only to return them days later!

Little does the world know that that the real treasure this thief seeks can’t be found in a museum: Raphael is trying to find his father, who disappeared three years ago.

All Raphael has to go on is a coin left behind by his dad, which bears a strange crest – so when an ancient bracelet is exhibited in the Louvre with the same odd marking, our cat burglar has to nab it!

Raphael manages to nab the goods, but alerts security to his presence! During his escape, he runs into a girl called Marie – and notices that her violin also sports that distinctive mark. To cap it all off, some crackpot dressed as Napoleon arrives with a bunch of goons and tries to kidnap Marie! There’s nothing for it but to do a runner!

As our young heroes melt into the Parisian night all we have are questions:

Why does Phantom R steal paintings and give them back? What is the significance of this odd marking? Who is the fellow parading around dressed as Napoleon? And could this have anything to do with the strange theft of Napoleon’s casket three years ago…?
