As you work through the game’s story Raphael will regularly run into situations where the only solution is getting down to the music. If that’s not enough, there are plenty of people around Paris who just can’t wait to see how much of a beat-master you are, and even a very unusual shop where you can purchase rhythm minigames to play any time…
Each challenge will see you bopping along to a piece of music - in some cases you’ll need to tap the buttons to time, in others a sweep of the stylus keeps the rhythm sweet, and in others still you use the gyro sensor, so you’ll be tilting your Nintendo 3DS system to time!
Play violin solos
Dodge attacks from British boxers
Get Fondue to bite the bottoms of police constables, and much more!
If you can consistently keep to the beat you’ll fill the Groove Gauge at the top of the 3D Screen, and every single beat counts: the better your timing, the more the gauge will fill. At the end of each challenge you’ll get an overall Rank (from top A to awful E) based on how into the groove you got.
Higher Ranks not only show mastery over the rhythm (and can earn you medals), but can come in handy for unlocking goodies. A word of warning though: don’t get cocky kid, because the gauge will empty out if you make blunders and mess up your moves!
