How to download:

During the download periods listed above, make sure your Nintendo 3DS or 2DS system is connected to the internet, and then touch the 'Check for Downloadable Images' button within the Free Paint mode in your game. It's as simple as that!

Important information

If you're unable to download the reference images:

Double check that you're trying to download during one of the period listed above. The reference images will only be available to download during these periods.

Ensure that you're connected to the internet – you must be connected to the internet to download the images. For details and tutorials on how to do this, visit our Nintendo 3DS Support section.

Please note that you may be unable to download and install new data if you do not have enough free space on your SD card.
